Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep. It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the client is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist's voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed, and the unconscious mind is revealed.
Amanda is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient, the seeds of which become firmly planted. These suggestions help the client to make positive changes within themselves.
In a hypnotherapy session the client is always in control and cannot be made to do anything against their will. During the initial consultation, Amanda will discuss and agree the changes to be made. These changes will then be suggested back to the patient during the hypnosis session.
